Blood after fingering?

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011
Alison Reiches asked:

So, my boyfriend fingered me, and it hurt sometimes when he did it. It was my first time, and most of the time he had 1 finger in, but sometimes he put 2 fingers in. The next morning, I went to the bathroom, and it hurt and then there was just a strip of blood, barely any. Can anyone tell me what happened?

Help getting a blood sample - other places to draw blood?

Sunday, July 5th, 2009
Melissa E asked:

I sent away and just received a food allergy test kit in which I mail them 3 blood samples, they test them, and tell me if I’m allergic to 96 different foods.

Here’s my problem - I’m having trouble getting a blood sample!

They gave me 3 test strips, (like the one diabetics use), and I need to fill them entirely with my blood. They said to use the given lancet to prick the side of my ring finger and extract the blood from there. I BARELY got enough to cover one strip - no more blood will come out! (I keep pushing the area around my skin for more to come out - and a little comes out, but then, nothing!)

The lancet is only a one-time use, so I went to Walmart and bought a box of 100 to prick myself again. I get home, and prick the other ring finger and again, barely enough blood….

My question: Is there another safe place to prick myself to get enough blood to successfully fill these strips!? I’m getting very frustrated and running out of fingers! LOL!

Thanks in advance…

Membrane stripping and blood?

Sunday, June 7th, 2009
Randi asked:

Yesterday I had my membrane stripped, I looked it up and found out exactly what the process was, so no need in explaining that part. After the doctor did this she pulled out her fingers and they were bloody. She showed them to me and said it was normal to have some bleeding after that was done. I was just wondering if it is normal to bleed almost like you were on a very light period for a couple of hours afterward. I’ve stopped bleeding, the blood last night became very dark and stringy. The blood didn’t last too long, I don’t feel ill or anything. I know it wasn’t a muscus plug. The doctor told me it would increase my contractions, so as to “get things going.” This is my first pregnancy, I’m 40 weeks today. So yes I stopped bleeding yesterday, but ever since last night I’ve had a soreness in my lower abdomin. Almost as if I did a bunch of situps. But it’s only in my lower abdomin, I’m walking really funny. And yes, it did increase my b.h.contractions. No, I don’t think I’m in labor.
