Question About Old Testing Strips?

Autumn Leaves asked:

The testing strips for glucose meters are so expensive. Sometimes I just can’t afford them and have to go without testing. Last night I found five boxes(25 discs all together) that belonged to my father. They expired a year and a half ago. The boxes are unopened but they were on a kitchen shelf, exposed to heat. Can I still use them? Will they give an accurate result? Thanks.
