Hi, I was recently told I was a pre-diabetic, so I bought an Accu-chek Active meter online. I just got it in the mail today, so I ran a few tests with new strips and everything.
All of my results came back with blood sugars of 12 - 17. I tested my roommate too and she was tested at a level of 17.
I didn’t know I had to buy control solution, as well, when I purchased all my… um, gear. SHOULD I buy some, or is my meter just faulty? What do you guys think if going on?
My meter has strips that come with a key code card that you just insert into the side of the meter.
I’m in the US, and my meter seems to only have the option of mg/dL.
I’m pretty sure I’ve inserted the code key correctly, because whenever I insert a new strip, the number on the code key appears on the screen just fine.
Do you guys think I just have a faulty meter on my hands?
