is it normal for stitches to bleed?

i just got a mole removed from my face yesterday, and i got stitches and last night i got into a huge fight with my family[yelling and crying] and i woke up with my blood behind my sterile strips. and i asked my good friend whos a nurse, and she said its a bruise,,, but it doesnt look like one since i found more black and blue marks under my strips. is it normal? and what is it? is it like oozing?
