All last week, i felt a weird sensation when peeing.
It wasn’t burning or pain, just a weird feeling right when i finished urinating.

There was no blood in my urine, but i was nervous and bought AZO strips.
it came out negative for nitrite, but dark purple [which is high] for leukocytes.
What does that mean?

Also, i used quite a bit of spermicde gel the weekend before the weird sensation when peeing..
Could this have anything to do with it?

“Trent get up.It’s time for school.”called my mother.

It’s hard to get out of bed each and every morning at 5:00a.m. just to go to school.Don’t you agree?

“Trent,get out of bed and get dressed now!”

“I’m up,I’m up.”I said.”Esh,can’t a guy get any sleep?”

I raised myself out of bed,got my clothes, went to the restroom,and tried to open the door.Locked.

“La Da De Du Doom Da Da”I heared come from behind the door.

“Conner get out of the bathroom right now.I need to take a shower!”

Conner is my older brother.He’s about 6′3 ft. tall.He has dark blond hair,brown eyes,and light skin.He’s in 12th grade,one grade higher than me,and he’s the captain of the football team at school.

“Bro,seriously get out of the bathroom right now!”
“No can do little bro.You snozze you lose.”

One thing he loves more than football is makeing me angry.

“Get out now!”I was already shouting at the door.
“Your request has been denied please ask again later.”He replied with a little girl voice,which sounds more like my mom after she goes for her jog after school.

I went to the other side of the hall and then,running as fast as I could,rammed the door.

With a click the door unlocked and with a screech the door opened.

See even though my brother likes makeing me made he really cares for everyone.Once he stopped the car on our way home from school to help a passed out hobo.He did spr on him.Now we see the hobo every thursday in front of our house when he is collecting cans.When I was done with my shower and puting my clothes on I went down stairs.

“Morning mom.”I said as I got to the kitchen.

On my plate were two eggs,a hash brown,and two strips of bacon.

We made it to the bus stop just as the bus was pulling around the corner.

My friend has had symptoms of a UTI since Tues it is now Sun. We bought urine strips and it indicates post leukocytes and nitrites. She will not be covered by heath insurance until July. I need help interpreting my urine dipstick result–specifically in terms of bilirubin. With the strips I used, urine that has no bilirubin does not cause a color change at all on the dipstick; in other words it should remain a light cream color. A positive result is supposed to be a tan-ish color. My result was neither. Instead, I got a dark, vivid orange result. I’ve read elsewhere that any color change is abnormal, and that a color other than the typical positive result (tan) may indicate bile pigments other than bilirubin in the urine. Can anyone tell me what the significance of that would be? Or any other explanation of that color change?

If it matters, the only other abnormal result was trace amounts of protein. Specific gravity and pH were also high, but I know those vary with hydration status and type of food consumed. Urobilinogen, glucose, ketones, nitrite, leukocytes, and blood were all negative–so I know my kidneys are fine, I don’t have a urinary tract infection, and I’m not diabetic.

Just to rule some things out: the color of my urine was normal, I have not consumed anything containing red or orange dye (only thing I’ve had in the last 3 days is chicken, plain pasta, and coffee), I’m not on any medications or vitamins, and I performed the test properly.

Thanks everyone for the input! To address the good points you all made:
–the first dipstick out of the container reacted normally w/the control (recently tested, stored properly, and they’re not expired)
–I too thought it was an anomaly but this is the result I get almost every time (5-6 times over the last 2 months)
–I originally got the strips as an inexpensive way to test for a UTI, but continued testing every once in a while to monitor the bilirubin result.
–no, I don’t exercise (but I’m not anywhere near overweight) I’ll try to pay attention to the effects of different foods though.
