SilverSky asked:
I got a blood sugar reading today of 62 and it’s the lowest reading i’ve ever gotten. it was a fasting reading at 8:00 in the morning. I”m not a diabetic but i got a high glucose number on a routine blood test once (111) so since then i’ve been keeping a watch on my blood sugar just in case i might have a problem in the future. most of the time it’s in the 70 - 80 - 90’s range but this reading this morning freaked me out. also my strips are kind of old so could this cause an error?
also i’ve gotten 2 a1c tests and my result both times was 5.3 so my doctor has already checked that out and so far i’m normal.
and no i felt normal before testing so i didn’t feel like i had low blood sugar.

Splash Log asked:
Type one diabetic and it seems I test mine incessantly. At least 15 times a day or about once every hour I am awake. Thankfully my testing supplies are paid for, otherwise I wouldn’t have the luxury of being able to test so often as strips are stupidly expensive. Others out there think this is too much? Am I over doing it, or do you think this is a good thing to do?

My dad is going to have surgery to have a large vein in his leg removed. He will also have others stripped during the surgery. He is 50 has high blood pressure and is diabetic. Can anyone give me insight into the surgery and recovery. Thank you.
He lives alone. Should I have him stay with us for a few days or will he be okay with us checking in on him? I’m just afraid he isn’t going to want to stay with us, he doesn’t like to feel like he is imposing.

Motherhood is cool! asked: I am almost 39 weeks and the doctors are getting concerned about my swelling, blood pressure and the largeness of my baby so they stripped my membranes yesterday. How long did you bleed for?
What color is the “bloody show”? All of this blood is brown, so that means it is old blood right? I have been having on and off tightening in my abdomen but it only lasts for a few seconds so I guess those can’t be contractions.
Any info you can share on your experience would be greatly appreciated

John B asked: Ok I just got through watching a PETA video about the methods used to take the fur from animals…They showed a wolf covered in blood and stripped naked while it was still alive …The wolf was looking in the camera blinking and looked like it was in extreme pain.
Is this how it always is with the fur industry or is peta taking one instance of animal cruelty and blowing it up?

asked: I went for a blood test today to see if i have ovulated this month, i have a 25 day cycle & its day 21 of my cycle, the doctor said being on a 25 day cycle i SHOULD be ovulating around day 9, but i got a VERY strong positive test on the ovulation strip, & that was around day 18, so my question is.. do they tell you around what day of your cycle you ovulated or only tell you weather you did ovulate or not that month????
Thank so much.

aliana98 asked:
I want to know if I have any sort of a legal case?
Well about a year ago my daughter 11 yrs old. had problems with very low blood sugar & the peditrician that we had made me test her 3 times a day and as she was symptomatic. Well the Dr.my daughter seen left the practice just recently about 8 months ago & handed it on to another doc in the mean time. Well the new Dr. called in more refills for my daughters script (glucose test strips) and I kept treating her as the previous Dr. told me to do.
In the mean time The pharmacy where I go to which is the only pharmacy near my town, has been filling the script. A few times during gym the nurse had to test & retest my daughter due to hypoglycemia and the nurse used a quite a few strips so I called the pharmacy they filled them early like 6 days early. Well the pharmasist got mad and told me that I was abusing my daughters test strips and told me that I cannot get them filled early anymore although my insurance covered them early and refused to give me my daughters strips. He then accused me for using them myself or giving them to someone else!
So I called my insurance company and they told me they would call the pharmacy and make sure they would be dispersed and the pharmacy still would not! In desperation and lack of other resources I called the Dr.s office and they said I would have to think of something different because the pharmasist called and told them I was misusing the stips for something other than my daughter and suggested to the doc that he cancel the script, the doc cancelled them and told me to go find another doc who would fill them. I was embarassed and mad knowing that I woulkd not abuse such a thing and my daughter needs them.
So I went to the pharmacy to buy some over the counter so she could have some to bring to school with her and the pharmacy told me no. so my daughter had to go to school & play a soccer game without strips because of this. She is a hypoglycemic and has no strips. I have no other way of getting them and I am a scared Mom for her.
Not to mention that is the only pharmacy wothin 2 1/2 hr drive and they wont help. Also the way the pharmacist humiliated me and made things difficult tees me off. Do I have any leagal cases on this? What should be my next step? Thank You
