Hamsters testing negative for glucose and keytones?
Thursday, April 24th, 2008I’m sure my hamster as diabetes. She drinks excesivley, is loosing weight despite the fact her appetite has increased, is less active than normal and her eye sight does not seem to be as good as it use to be. However I used the Keto-Diastix reagent strips using her urine and both the Keytones and Glucose are Negative. Does this mean her body isn’t producing any sugar? So should i feed her a sugar diet? Any suggestions on what type of diet to feed her? Thank you!
