Hello, presently I’m out of work so I lost my Medical coverage. I have type 2 diabeties and take Glipizide and Metformin as well as use the Freestyle testing meter and strips. I’m curious are their any organizations out there that can assist me with the cost or offer free assistance with Diabetic supplies?

I have not been diagnosed with pcos but I do not think I’m ovulating. I have been using over the counter ovulation test strips and I have not had one tell me I’m ovulating yet. My periods are every 52 to 56 days so I literally have no idea when or if I’m ovulating at all. I have heard that some woman are put on diabetic meds and special diets to help them ovulate. I would be ever so grateful if someone could give me the diet plan or any info that you may have in increasing chances of ovulation. I do need to lose weight but overall I’m in pretty good health. Plus I would also like for someone to share any success stories with me that had pcos and was able to conceive. We are all in this boat together and want the same little miracle. A baby ! Thank You so much for your help in this any info will be much appreciated. : )

This has proven to be a very difficult thing to do, there are several websites that will give away a free glucometer, but I cant seem to find any that will give away free test strips. I am an insulin dependent diabetic, i take two shots a day. I was diagnosed when I was 16 years old and at the time I had Medicaid, I live in Arkansas and they told me that after I turned 19 if I wasn’t pregnant then I was on my own for medical. I am currently not working due to my diabetes and have been having a hard time affording the strips, if anyone knows anything that could help I would be forever grateful.
Thanks

My dad is diabetic. I believe only type II, diet based. He is taking pills to regulate his blood sugar, though he’s said there has been no change with that. He is home alone at the moment, and he has been feeling extremely tired and light headed for the past day. The tester wasn’t giving any readings, so I will be buying new (non-expired) strips soon to test him on it.

He also is recovering from eye surgery that he had under a week ago.

I understand the best thing would to be see a doctor. However, that is not an option just yet unless it is an extreme emergency. My question is, is being extremely weak, and light headed a common symptom of diabetes, or could it be something worse? If so, what?

I need your help, thanks so much,

Niki

Does any one know of a web site out there where I can get free meter and test strips? Or even find a free meter when the strips are low cost? I do not have insurance and can’t afford to go see a doctor right now.

Will the test strips still work right or do i need new ones that are not expired. Would it make a differance if the strips are expired or not. We both took are sugar levels this morning and well they were a lil high. Would that be from having the strips expired?
